When Salterns Old Cottage came to the market with Spence Willard in 2017, we had no idea that we would be helping to realise the dreams of Charlie & Sophie Kirk, who were comfortably sat on their sofa in Yorkshire perusing Rightmove.
Sophie had been visiting Seaview the majority of her life and particularly loved all of the different styles of property, particularly in Seaview and the surrounding areas, “With the ease of modern technology, we stumbled across the house online and we were very interested to see what it was like inside and out, as it was always our dream to have a house in Seaview. Having always stayed a few doors away, we couldn’t believe it was up for sale. It was a once in a lifetime opportunity!”.
Seaview can be found on the eastern coast of the Isle of Wight and being only 2.5 miles from Ryde it is a great location for commuting to and from the mainland with ease, with the ability to get to London in 2 hours. For Sophie, Seaview ticked so many more boxes, with wonderful beaches, lovely walks for her dogs, as well as the sense of community and nostalgia.
As well as coming to the Isle of Wight to enjoy Salterns Old Cottage, Sophie enjoys the Island for the beautiful countryside, numerous beaches and exploring the Solent by boat. She also recommends visiting the incredible historical sites, namely Osborne House and Carisbrooke Castle. You too can come and appreciate all the Island has to offer, even staying at Salterns Old Cottage – since when Sophie & her family aren’t using the property, they holiday let for others to enjoy too.

Sam was incredibly helpful and the team in Bembridge were always on hand to answer any questions and to ease our worries – especially given we were geographically 300 miles away!”
